Our liberties and the free enterprise system are threatened by social activist investors and anti-business advocacy organizations that seek to advance their social and political goals through publicly-owned corporations. A Wall Street Journal editorial recently defined the problem as:

"the new politics of capital, in which liberal activists attempt to turn entire corporations into lobbyists for their social and political goals..."

Many companies have fallen victim to the pressures that are applied by these activists, forcing them into hasty, ill-informed and politically-driven decisions. These companies often do not back their decisions with substantial research and analysis either because they have little time to react or the anticipated results might be sensible, but deemed unpopular with the activists. The result is liberally-biased popular decisions that are made by company executives, which can hurt the company, their employees, their industry, the economy and our society.
